Gaming NewsEx-gaming industry executive turned video blogger, Jason "Jace" Hall, landed an exclusive interview with George Broussard and Scott Miller of 3D Realms and got a sneak peak at Duke Nukem 3D. It’s hard to get a good sense of the game play and graphics, but after more than 12 years in the making, it just good to see something. Video @ Crackle

Crytek will release a new game based on PC-exclusive Crysis entitled Warhead that will put you in the nanosuit of different soldier with his own storyline. I presume that this will bring gamers an experience more akin to the original Far Cry, but in the Crysis universe. Story @ Joystiq

The next update for Valve’s popular Team Fortress 2 will feature a new weapon for the Pyro, the aptly named "Axtinguisher". Supposedly this will help you "axtinguish" those pesky enemies that you previously had set ablaze. Story @ Shack News

Gaming NewsZero Punctuation has a great video retrospective of the Painkiller series. Honestly I liked the game for being a Serious Sam meets Doom kind of shooter and who could say no to a gun that shoots shuriken's AND lightning. Video @ The Escapist

Everyone’s favorite anti-gaming lobbyist lawyer, Jack Thompson, may be found guilty of 27 of the 31 charges brought against him per a judge’s recommendation. Apparently, making false statements of material fact or law to a tribunal, using means that have no purpose other than to embarrass, delay, or burden a third person, and engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation are frowned upon when you practice law. Full Story @ Ars Technica

Now if only Valve would only turn this into a real weapon for Team Fortress 2 it could rival Painkillers shuriken launcher with lightning. Video @ We Game

Gaming NewsIt looks like id Software is gearing up to start production on the fourth game in the venerable Doom series. Let’s just hope that our fearless space marine hero finds a roll of duct tape to go with his flashlight this time around. News Post @ id Sofware

Blizzard just recently opened a digital download store for their catalogue of games. I guess the sale of decade old Battle Chest’s has cooled off a bit. Store @ Blizzard

In a brief interview, NVIDIA’s Roy Taylor gave a brief rant about piracy of PC games. It’s hard to disagree with anything he said and I too believe that we’re going to see a lot more online authentication required to play games. Excerpts @ Euro Gamer

Gaming NewsWorld of Warcraft may start to feel the squeeze this year with new MMORPG’s like Warhammer and Age of Conan entering the market and pushing the graphics (and hopefully game play) envelope. Full Story @ Guardian

Speaking of Blizzard games, 1UP has a weeklong preview of the hotly anticipated Starcraft II. If you like RTS games, this should definitely be on your short list. Preview @ 1UP

Some new trailers for Battlefield Heroes are starting to creep out. This one specifically shows you some of the customization options for your in-game character. I look forward to seeing one next for the weapon options available through “microtransactions”. Trailer @ Bittdaily
